MSM Home Services offers stand-alone aerial surveys of urban residences, rural properties, numerous outbuildings, ancillary structures, or adjacent land. By using a small drone, we are able to observe parts of buildings that cannot be viewed from the ground, and not even while walking on the roof either. Alternate vantage points from the air give a better understanding of a house's position relative to other structures on a large property. Drones can also provide expansive images of undeveloped woodland or farm land that is being subdivided for sale.
MSM Home Services can provide overall aerial images of a house. This asphalt-shingle roof was recently replaced and the "after" image was used by a contractor to show the completed work in its entirety. The drone picture also caught the deterioration and cracking of the concrete chimney cap, which had to be subsequently repaired by a qualified masonry contractor.
MSM Home Services uses a drone to inspect roofs that are not accessible to an average home inspector. This four-story apartment building is too tall to be safely reached by a ladder and does not have an accessible roof hatch. MSM Home Services was able to inspect each seam and penetration, identifying a number of issues that could not be seen from the ground.
This chimney could not be seen from the ground and appears to show significant deterioration of both the concrete cap and the mortar holding the bricks together.
The backside of this chimney has flashing that appears to be separating from the bricks in the lower right corner and cannot be seen from the ground below.
MSM Home Services can use a drone to inspect areas around the eaves that are difficult to view from any position above or below. This is the lower edge of a mansard roof that is too tall to be easily reached by a ladder. The above image shows a gutter that appears to have slipped from its support brackets, revealing an opening into the eaves that could allow water penetration and animal infestations.
MSM Home Services also uses a drone to help homeowners inspect deteriorating roofs, such as this combination one with numerous hips, gables, and dormers, making it difficult to see all of the different angles from the ground. The above image was taken in a valley on the back of a house with a restricted view, showing shingles that are slipping out of position. The poor condition of the asphalt shingles could be made much worse by a home inspector walking on the roof.
